MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL: Jarrett goes 0-for-3, walks twice in Norfolk’s win over Jacksonville

Zach Jarrett did not get a hit but walked twice and scored a run on Wednesday night as visiting Norfolk (Va.) downed Jacksonville (Fla.) 9-3.

A former prep baseball star at Hickory High and college star at Charlotte, Jarrett went 0-for-3. He walked twice and struck out twice, batting No. 8 in the Tides’ batting order and starting in centerfield.

The Triple-A series continues on Thursday night in Jacksonville.

Jarrett’s batting average dipped to .297. He has two home runs and has driven in 13 runs this season while playing Double-A and in Triple-A.

The next home run by Jarrett will be his 30th as pro player.
