Bowie (Md.) picked up another Double-A win on Wednesday night as former Hickory High star Zach Jarrett drove in a run.
The Baysox rolled past visiting Reading (Pa.) 9-0, improving to 5-2.
JARRETT
Jarrett batted ninth in the batting order and started in left field. He had one hit.
The series continues Thursday night in Bowie.
The Baysox (4-2) are in third place in the Double-A Northeast League’s East Division. They are a game behind second-place Akron (Ohio) and 1 1/2 games behind division-leading Richmond (Va;.).
Bowie is a farm club of the Baltimore Orioles while Richmond is affiliated with the San Francisco Giants and Akron with the Cleveland Indians.
Jarrett is hitting .217 this season with one triple and two RBIs.
He is the son of NASCAR champion driver Dale Jarrett and in his fourth on-field pro season (there were no minor league games in 2020).
