LENOIR – West Caldwell High has cancelled its non-conference schedule for junior varsity football and will soon determine if it will field a team to play its seven Northwestern 3A-4A games.
In an email, Warriors athletic director Stephen McMasters said the Warriors don’t currently have enough players to field a JV team and they have not played a game this season.
West Caldwell did not play West Iredell on Thursday night and won’t play next Thursday at home against Ashe County.
The Warriors’ league schedule is set to begin on Sept 20 with a home game against Alexander Central.
McMasters indicated he expects to make a decision on JV football by next week, as West Caldwell is playing in a 3A-4A conference with an enrollment of 735 students
