Notes: Alexander Central shot 47.7 percent to St. Stephens’ 20.4 that included the Indians going 4-for-24 in the opening half … The Cougars won the boards 43-27, including doubling the Indians on defensive boards (32-16) … Benfield had nine rebounds (all defensive) for Alexander Central and Dawson Elder added eight and Lowrance added seven … Zane McPherson grabbed eight rebounds for the Indians … St. Stephens made one of 18 shots from 3-point range and Alexander Central made five of 11 (two each by Lucas Walker and Evan Presnell) … Benfield made five of his seven field goal attempts for Alexander Central … The Cougars outscored the Indians 30-18 in the paint and 21-10 on points off turnovers.
