HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Ex-Freedom coach ready for new season in mountains

HobbsDailyReport.com

A good read from The Asheville Citizen Times — which does an excellent job of high school coverage in Western North Carolina — from a conversation with former Freedom High head football coach Brandon Allen, now head football coach at North Buncombe High.

Allen left Waynesville Tuscola to become the new head football coach at Freedom, replacing Blair Hardin, in 2014 and the Patriots went 10-1-1, 11-2 and 6-6 in his three years in Morganton.

Freedom won two Northwestern 3A-4A titles under Allen, tied for third last season, and reached the state playoffs all three seasons.
