CRAWDADS: Rained out in Maryland, will play doubleheader against Suns on Sunday

HAGERSTOWN, Md. – Hickory’s game against the Suns in Hagerstown, Md., was rained out on Friday night.

It was the sixth wash out of the season for the Suns, who had only four games rained out last season, the club’s website says.

The Crawdads (10-17) and Suns (17-0) will play a 6:05 p.m. game on Saturday in Hagerstown and the Friday postponed game was moved to a Sunday 2:05 p.m. start with another game to follow.

Hickory’s visit to Hagerstown ends with a 10:35 a.m. game on Monday, and the Crawdads start a homestand on Wednesday.

First in for a visit is Charleston, S.C., for three games followed by Greensboro for games on May 13-16.

Hickory is currently seven games behind South Atlantic League (SAL) Northern Division leader Hagerstown, which has a one-game lead over Lakewood, N.J.

In the SAL Southern Division, the current leader is Greenville, S.C. at 18-9 and 1 ½ games up on Rome (Ga.).
