HICKORY – St. Stephens High won its own 46th annual Indian Classic wrestling tournament on Saturday, edging West Lincoln by 37 ½ points behind Most Outstanding Wrestler Blake Baker.
The Indians had 197 points to finish ahead of West Lincoln (159.5), Bunker Hill (125), West Iredell (90) and Pigeon Forge (81) in the top five.
Baker won the championship at 132 pounds and other Indians winning titles were Graham Ormand at 113 pounds, Eddie Brannock at 145 pounds, Ivan Vergel at 160 pounds and Salvador Gilvaja at 195 pounds.
West Lincoln’s championships were Keaton Norman at 138 pounds, Nathan Hull at 152 pounds and Brock Steele at 285 pounds.
