HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING: West Lincoln grabs South Fork 2A tournament title

NEWTON – West Lincoln High had three individual champions on Thursday night and won the South Fork 2A wrestling tournament title.

The Rebels were also conference champions in the regular season.

Led by championships at 106, 152 and 170 pounds, the Rebels scored 212 ½ points to outdistance tournament host Newton-Conover (146).

Ryan Walker, heavyweight from Newton-Conover, was named the conference’s Wrestler of the Year and Coach of the Year went to Butch Ross of West Lincoln.

The Rebels’ title winners were: Andy Saine at 106, Ricky Reynolds at 152 and Mason Avery at 170.

The Red Devils’ championships were: Camden Spencer at 120, Owen Clark at 195, Cole Clark at 220 and Walker at 285.
