GREENVILLE, S.C. — Alexy Mollenhauer scored 27 points and former Bandys High star Ace Easter added 20 as top-seed Anderson (S.C.) topped Lenoir-Rhyne University 77-65 on Saturday in a women’s basketball semifinal in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) tournament.

Anderson won the SAC title on Sunday, also at Furman’s Timmons Arena, with a 62-60 victory over second-seeded Wingate when Mollenauer scored 17 points and Easter added 13.

Anderson gained a first-round home game in the NCAA Division II tournament against Barton College on Friday in the Southeast Regional, and Wingate and Carson-Newman also earned national bids from the SAC.

Fourth-seeded LRU finished 17-13.

Anderson beat the Bears on Saturday behind a strong performance on the boards – out-rebounding LRU 41-35.

LRU shot 34.6 percent.

Freshman Madeline Hardy had 16 points and eight rebounds for the Bears while Kennedy Weigt and Maddi Suddreth had 15 and 13 points, respectively.

Hardy scored in double figures for the ninth time in 11 games.
