COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Anderson women, Queens men top seeds for SAC tournaments

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Regular-season champions Anderson (S.C.) in women and Queens in men are the top seeds for the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) basketball tournaments that begin on Wednesday night at higher seed.

Anderson’s women won all 20 of their league games, finishing five games up on Wingate and Carson-Newman, and they’ll open at home on Wednesday night (time to be announced) against No. 8 Catawba (13-14).

The Queens (27-3) won 19 of their 20 SAC games, earning a home game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against No. 8 Carson-Newman (15-13).

The tournament moves to Timmons Arena in Greenville, S.C., for its final two rounds. The semifinals are on Saturday and the title games, which determine the league’s automatic bids into the NCAA Division II tournament, are set for Sunday.
