NEWTON — Fred T. Foard High can go unbeaten against Northwestern Foothills 2A volleyball teams with a victory on Wednesday night at home over Patton.
The top-seeded Tigers (25-1) face the No. 2 Panthers (20-5) at 6 p.m. at Foard after both won semifinal matches at home on Tuesday night.
Foard downed No. 4 East Burke 4-0 in Newton and Patton advanced by beating No. 3 seed West Iredell 3-2 at Patton.
Foard beat Patton 3-0 at Foard and at Patton in the regular season.
The only loss for the Tigers this season was non-conference at home against Watauga.
If Foard wins on Wednesday it will go 17-0 against teams in its league this season, pending meeting any of the league teams in the state 2A playoffs.
