The Durham Bulls belted Norfolk (Va.) 11-2 on Wednesday night in Durham in a Triple-A game.
Hickory native Zach Jarrett started in centerfield for the Tides and went 0-for-4. He scored a run but his batting average dipped to .295.
The series continues on Thursday night in Durham (6:35 p.m.), and the teams meet again on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Former Bandys High pitching ace Hunter Harvey did not pitch in Wednesday night’s game and reports say he will return to the Baltimore Orioles this weekend. He’s on the Norfolk roster on a rehab assignment.
Harvey has not pitched for the Orioles this season, going on the 60-day disabled list with an oblique strain before the season began.
Baltimore will face Cleveland on Friday through Sunday, be off on Monday, and play host to the New York Mets on Tuesday and Wednesday.
