MINOR LEAGUES: Friday’s games wiped out by rain

The Hickory Crawdads’ game at Columbia, S.C., on Friday night was rained out and the game was moved to Saturday as part of a doubleheader.

The games involving local players Hunter Harvey, Zach Jarrett and Hayden Deal — all from Catawba County — were also rained out and moved to doubleheaders on Saturday.

Harvey plays for Bowie (Md.) in Double-A and the Baysox play at Akron (Ohio) on Saturday.

Jarrett plays for Advanced Class A Fredricks (Va.), which plays Salem (Va.) in two games on Saturday.

Hayden Deal plays for the Florida Fire Frogs, based in Kissimmee, Fla., and their doubleheader on Saturday is at home against Daytona Beach (Fla.).
