Jarrett, a former star at Hickory High and at Charlotte, batted leadoff for the Keys on Monday night in a 6-2 loss at Potomac (Va.), and went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

He started in right field and batted fifth on Sunday, going 0-for-5 with two strikeouts, when Fredrick beat Potomac 5-2 on the road.

On Saturday, Jarrett was fifth in the order and started in right field, going 1-for-4, as Potomac won 1-0, and he hit fifth in the order and played right field on Friday when the Keys won at Potomac 8-4 (he went 2-for-5).

Jarrett is hitting .259 this season with two home runs and 13 RBIs and he’s hitting .289 with a home run and five RBIs in his last 10 games.

He is in the Fredrick lineup for a second tenure after spending about a month at Class AA Bowie (Md.).

Jarrett is in his third minor league season, playing first at Aberdeen (Md.) and then in 129 games last season at Class A Delmarva (Md.), where he hit .277 with 26 doubles, six triples and 14 home runs.

Jarrett drove in 72 runs, walked 41 times and struck out 136 times and was a South Atlantic League (SAL) All-Star.

(Class AA Bowie, Md., Baysox)

Harvey, a first round pick by Baltimore in 2013, made his ninth start of the season for Bowie on Saturday, lasting 2 1/3 innings in a 19-4 victory at Erie (Pa.).

He gave up four hits, three runs (all earned), walked four and struck out three and did not get a decision. That left his record for the year at 2-3 with an ERA of 5.82.

Harvey has thrown 38 2/3 innings this season, walking 14 and striking out 43, and his career pro record is now 10-13 with an ERA of 3.59 with 260 strikeouts in 56 games.

Harvey did not pitch on Friday in a 3-1 win at Erie or on Sunday and Monday when Erie won 3-0 and 4-3 over the Baysox (19-30) at Erie.

(Class A Advanced Florida Fire Frogs)

Deal, a left-hander who played at Bandys High and Presbyterian College, did not get a decision in his most recent start, on Friday at Dunedin (Fla.).

He pitched 6 1/3 innings, giving up eight hits, two runs (both earned) with no walks and six strikeouts. His record this season is 2-3 with an ERA oif 1.50 with 54 innings pitched, 12 walks and 47 strikeouts.

Deal has been named to the Florida State League’s All-Star Game, scheduled June 14-15 in Jupiter (Fla.) with the game on June 15.

He has a pro career record of 14-6 with an ERA of 2.15 with 38 walks and 156 strikeouts.

Deal hasn’t pitched since Friday, and the Fire Frogs fell 7-5 on Saturday at Dunedin and won there Sunday 6-2.

Florida was idle on Memorial Day.
