(Class A Advanced Florida Fire Frogs)

Deal is a left-hander who played at Bandys High and Presbyterian College.

Last start: Last Sunday at Tampa (Fla.), where Florida lost 5-0 with Deal going one inning. He gave up one hit, two runs (both earned) with one walk and one strikeout.

After back-to-back walks with two outs, he got a swinging strikeout to end the inning. Reliever Lukas Young took the mound for the start of the second inning for the Fire Frogs.

Deal threw strikes on 16 of 22 pitches and faced five batters.

There was a rain delay of about 45 minutes between the first and second inning and, per how the Frogs normally handle lengths of delays between throwing, Deal was replaced.

Current stats: 3-4, 1.88 ERA, 12 starts, 67 innings pitched, 16 walks, 57 strikeouts.

Next scheduled start: TBA, is in Florida State League All-Star Game on Saturday.

(Class A Advanced Fredrick, Va.)

Jarrett is a former star at Hickory High and at Charlotte who is back with the Keys after playing about a month at Class AA Bowie (Md.).

Thursday: Not in the lineup as Salem (Va.) beat Fredrick 8-4 at Salem.

Wednesday: Batted fourth in the lineup in, going 0-for-4 with four strikeouts, in a 6-2 home loss to Carolina.

Tuesday: In a doubleheader split (Carolina 8-1, Fredrick 4-3) at home, was 2-for-3 in the first game and batted fourth and played rightfield; in second game, was designated hitter and batted fifth and w3ent 0-for-3.

Monday: Game with Carolina cancelled because of rain.

Current stats: .250, four home runs, 18 RBIs.

Last 10 games: .135, no home runs, no RBIs.

(Class AA Bowie, Md., Baysox)

Harvey was a first round pick by Baltimore in 2013 after a standout career at Bandys High.

Last start: Last Friday at Portland (Ore.) in 10-3 loss. Pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up nine hits, eight runs (all earned) with three walks and two strikeouts before 5,529. Hit one batter, threw strikes on 58 of 92 pitches, faced 24 batters.

Current stats: 2-5, 6.12 ERA, 11 starts, 50 innings pitched, 40 runs (36 earned), six hit batters, 19 walks, 50 strikeouts, allowed 14 home runs.
