HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS TENNIS: Huffman wins South Fork 2A singles title, leads Maiden to team crown

MAIDEN – Zoe Huffman won a singles title and led Maiden High to the title of the South Fork 2A girls’ tennis tournament on Monday at Maiden.

Huffman beat Toni Laney of Bandys 6-1, 6-0 after her 6-0, 6-0 semifinal victory over Ashlyn Rhyne of Lincolnton. Laney had advanced with a 6-0, 6-0 semifinal win over Madi Shull of Maiden.

Lake Norman Charter’s Zoe Panizza and Annie Thomas won doubles, defeating Maiden’s Easton Finger and Gracie Arrowood in the finals 6-2, 6-3.
