East Lincoln won the SD-7 2A title by one game — over Bunker Hill and Maiden — and is the top seed for the conference tournament that begins on Tuesday night.

East Lincoln High is the top seed for the Southern District 7 Athletic 2A baseball tournament that begins Tuesday with four games at higher-seeds.

The Mustangs went 10-4 in the league, finishing a game in front of Bunker Hill and Maiden, and they open the tournament at home against No. 8 Newton-Conover on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The tournament shifts to the Legion Fairgrounds and Henkel-Alley Field on Thursday for the semifinals and Friday’s title game is at 7 p.m. at the Fairgrounds.

There were two ties in the final regular season standings – Bunker Hill and Maiden for second place and West Lincoln and Lincolnton for fifth place.

Maiden earned the No. 2 seed for its victory over East Lincoln, which swept Bunker Hill in the regular season.

West Lincoln gained the No. 5 seed because it swept Lincolnton in the regular season.

Maiden is the defending conference tournament champion as a No. 2 seed, beating No. 4 Bunker Hill 6-4 in last year’s title game.
