HARROGATE, Tenn. – Lenoir-Rhyne University cleared 40 wins this season by sweeping a women’s softball doubleheader over Lincoln Memorial on Friday.
The Bears won the opening game 7-5 and then won 8-6 to improve to 41-8 overall and 13-3 in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).
Brandi Parks reached 20 wins for the Bears in the first-game victory and she earned a save in the second game.
Sydney Landreth went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Dakota Keller hit her sixth home run of the year for the Bears in the opening game.
In the second game, leadoff hitter Erin Boone was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for LRU and MacKenzie Cates homered for the Bears, her seventh of the season.
LRU, ranked No. 24 in NCAA Division II, next plays on Wednesday when Queens visits Hickory for a league doubleheader that begins at 3 p.m.
