MORGANTON – The Northwestern 3A-4A softball tournament title game scheduled Friday will now be played at Patton High.
Athletic officials at top-seeded South Caldwell (18-6) said Thursday the Spartans’ game against second-seeded Fred T. Foard (14-6) is moving from Catawba Meadows Park in Morganton to Patton.
The game is still set to begin at 6 p.m.
South Caldwell advanced to the title game with a 10-0 win over No. 8 seed Hickory and a 13-3, five-inning victory over No. 5 St. Stephens.
Foard won its berth by beating No. 7 Patton 6-3 and third-seeded Hibriten 19-12 in the semifinals.
