NW 3A-4A GIRLS SOCCER: Hibriten wins by shutout again, finishes in fourth place

All seven of Hibriten’s league wins this season were by shutout.

LENOIR – Hibriten High’s girls closed their regular season on Thursday night with a 1-0 home win over St. Stephens to finish fourth in Northwestern 3A-4A soccer.The Panthers went 7-4-3 to finish behind Hickory, Fred T. Foard and Watauga in the league standings and just ahead of South Caldwell.

The win on Thursday was the seventh in league play via shutout for Hibriten. In those conference wins, the Panthers outscored opponents 28-0.

St. Stephens closed at 5-9-0 in conference play and will finish in sixth place.

Notes: Fred T. Foard and Watauga were scheduled to play in Boone on Thursday, no report; South Caldwell is scheduled to play at Patton on Friday at 6 p.m., closing both teams’ league schedule.
