BOTH COUGARS TEAMS AT HOME: The starts of the North Piedmont 3A-4A tournaments were postponed on Monday.
Alexander Central’s baseball team now plays West Iredell at home Tuesday at 7 p.m., and the Cougars’ softball team plays host to Statesville on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The start of the North Piedmont 3A-4A baseball and softball tournaments on Monday have been delayed by one day.
Both tournaments now start on Tuesday with games at higher seeds.
The shift also moves Tuesday’s scheduled semifinals to Wednesday, the baseball at Mooresville and the softball at Lake Norman.
Additionally, these schedule changes were announced Monday by Alexander Central:
Golf: The West 4A Regional at Mooresville Golf Club will be played Wednesday, starting at 8 a.m.
Track and field: The league’s field championships were to be contested on Monday but they’re delayed, so the field and running championships will all be done on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Mooresville.
Girls soccer: Alexander Central’s match scheduled Thursday at home against North Iredell is moved up to Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
The Cougars are at South Iredell on Tuesday at 6;30 p.m. for a conference match.
