NPC 3A-4A BASEBALL: After win, Mooresville in 3-way tie for second place

MOORESVILLE – Mooresville High is in the midst of a very tight race for the North Piedmont 3A-4A baseball crown after beating visiting South Iredell 5-3 on Tuesday night.

The Blue Devils (11-7, 9-3) are in a three-way tie for second place with Alexander Central and South Iredell. They trail Lake Norman, which despite falling 3-2 at Alexander Central on Tuesday night, is 9-2 in the league.

The NPC plays a 14-game league schedule.

Mooresville has won five straight league games and South Iredell has dropped two straight after having won eight consecutive conference games. Prior to Tuesday, the Vikings’ only league losses were to Alexander Central in a league opener and to Lake Norman.

Alexander Central visits Mooresville on Thursday for a 7 p.m. league game, while South Iredell will be at home that night to play North Lincoln at 7 p.m.
