The girls’ soccer season ended for Newton-Conover High on Thursday night when visiting Forbush won 3-1 to snap the Red Devils’ 13-match win streak.
Fifth-seeded Forbush (20-5-1) scored two second-half goals to eliminate the fourth-seeded Red Devils (16-3-1), who had won 13 straight after a loss to East Lincoln and then battling Lincolnton to a tie in a Southern District 7 Athletic 2A matches.
Forbush goes to top-seeded Hendersonville (20-1-0) for a fourth round match that must be played by Saturday.
Hendersonville advanced on Wednesday by downing No. 7 Lake Norman Charter 3-1.

No. 1 South Iredell 2, No. 11 Hickory Ridge 1: In Troutman, the Vikings (21-0-0) stayed unbeaten with a third-round victory.
South Iredell is at home Saturday at 7 p.m. in a fourth-round match, facing No. 6 Weddington (19-2-0), whichbeat Asheville Reynolds 3-0 in Fairview.
No. 4 Cox Mill 6, No. 5 Kings Mountain 0: Cox Mill won at home, scoring three goals in each half, to advance to the fourth round.
Cox Mill battles No. 15 Marvin Ridge (16-5-2) in a match that must be played by Saturday.
Kings Mountain, which went unbeaten to win a South Mountain Athletic 2A-3A title, finished 21-3-0.

No. 1 West Forsyth 6, No. 6 Watauga 0: At West Forsyth, the Titans’ Brooklyn Berry broke the career scoring record for her school with two goals in a third-round match.
Berry has 116 career goals.
West Forsyth (24-1-1) is at home for a fourth-round match that must be played by Saturday. The Titans encounter No. 4 Myers Park (17-1-2), which advanced Wednesday by beating No. 9 Asheville Roberson 5-0 in Charlotte.
Watauga finished 13-3-3.
