HIGH SCHOOL BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Bunker Hill has trio of award winners in SD-7 2A

Traditional track and field power Bunker Hill High leads the All-Southern District 7 Athletic 2A selections by winning three of the league’s top three awards for boys.

Damarcus Ruff of the Bears won Field Performer of the Year, Bernie Briley received Sprinter of the Year and head coach John Sullivan was named Coach of the Year.

The selections were released Sunday and also included Brandon Sherrill of Lincolnton as the Distance Runner of the Year.

Bandys has the most All-SD-7 2A picks with nine and Bunker Hill was next with eight.

Bunker Hill: Damarcus Ruff, Raheem Carson, Ricky Blake, Austin Cornette, Jackson Sherrill, Derric Artis, Bernie Briley, Brandon Rockette.

E. Lincoln: Ryan Matz, Cameron Dollar, Peyton Stone, Jerome Overton.

Lincolnton: Donnie Thompson, Brandon Sherrill, Daniel Hopkins.
