ELGIN, S.C. – Abbey Hartsell, a Lenoir-Rhyne University sophomore playing in the NCAA Division II South Super Regionals, closed strongly on Wednesday and finished tied for seventh at The Members Club in Woodcreek.
Hartsell closed at 11-over par 227, tying Seher Atwal of Rollins and Carolina Moore of Lee for seventh.
Kiira Riihijarvi of Tampa won the individual title at 4-over par 220, and she’s joined in advancing to the NCAA Division II championships by Florida Tech’s Brittany LaPadula (6-over 222) and Saint Leo’s Marie Coors (7-over 223).
Barry was the team champion at 54-over 918 and Rollins and Lee will also advance to the national championships.
The finals are next Wednesday through May 20 at the Findlay (Ohio) Golf Course.
