COLLEGE MEN’S LACROSSE: Lenoir-Rhyne win wraps up at least share of league crown

HARROGATE, Tenn. – Lenoir-Rhyne University won for the 11th straight time in men’s lacrosse on Saturday, grabbing at least a share of a league title with a 12-7 victory over Lincoln Memorial on the road.

The Bears (11-1, 7-0) ranked No. 5 in NCAA Division II, remained in contention to repeat as South Atlantic Conference (SAC) regular-season champions by winning.

Lincoln Memorial dropped to 7-6, 3-4.

Freshman midfielder Eric Dickinson scored four goals to lead LRU, giving him a league-best and school single-season record of 43 goals. Junior midfielder Ben Corrigan also had four goals for the Bears.

Lincoln Memorial’s Kyle Arcuri scored a match-high five goals.

LRU led 7-6 midway through the third period before exploding for five straight goals in the final six minutes, 34 seconds of the period.

The Bears, 22-1 in their last 23 matches back to last year, held advantages in both shots taken (48-33) and ground balls (40-26).

LRU junior Ryan Crompton stopped 12 shots and earned the win in goal while Lincoln Memorial goalkeeper Joe Medel made a school-record 23 saves.

The Bears wrap up the regular season with a home game on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Catawba at Moretz Stadium.
