Maiden fans, take note, at least one other website following the Hokies has IDed Caleb as from Hickory... better give a shoutout to Virginia Tech sports information to clarify that!

Farley shines in his wide receiver debut

It is clear that the hype surrounding Caleb Farley has been warranted. The true freshman from North Carolina, who has played both wide receiver and defensive back for the Hokies this fall, put his speed on display as a wide receiver and was working with the first team during the majority of the afternoon. While the Hokies wide receiver corps are littered with injuries, Farley looked comfortable at wide receiver and could be utilized quickly in the Hokies offense. Against the first team defense, Farley caused three pass interference called against Brandon Facyson, largely due to his speed. Later in the game, the 6-foot 3-inch speedster put his skills on display with a blazing end around followed by a nice 37-yard reception.  While he is still listed as a defensive back on the official Virginia Tech roster, the Hokies staff will have a hard time taking his big play ability away from the offense.
