WOMEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE: Stack scores career-best 6 goals as Bears cruise

HARROGATE, Tenn. – Alyssa Sack had six goals on Saturday – two that began 16 straight by Lenoir-Rhyne University – as the Bears rolled past Lincoln Memorial 17-4 in women’s lacrosse.

Sack got her scoring started after the match was tied at 1-all, and LRU (8-5, 4-1 South Atlantic Conference) held the Railsplitters (9-5, 3-3) scoreless from the 28:45 mark of the first half until Amara Moss scored with six minutes, five seconds to play.

Through Saturday, the Bears were in second place in the SAC, 1 1/2 matches back of Queens and a half-match in front of Catawba.

LRU’s next match is Wednesday at home at 4 p.m. against Catawba.

Sack, a red-shirt sophomore from Senoia, Ga.,  added two assist in the win at Lincoln Memorial while Gia Colombo added four goals. Cassie Lafler and Morgan Ulvenes had six and five groundballs, respectively, to lead LRU.

The Bears outshot the Railsplitters 28-11 and 23-9 in shots on goal.

Sack’s six goals in a season and career-high and she has 23 goals this season.

The Bears are now 8-0 when scoring 15 or more goals.

Tenna Sieben had three saves against Lincoln Memorial, earning her fourth win of the year.
