ROCK HILL, S.C. – For the second time in three weeks, goalie Ines Flueck of Lenoir-Rhyne University is the top defensive star in South Atlantic Conference (SAC) women’s lacrosse.
Flueck, a senior from Coppell, Tex., won the award again Monday after she had 17 saves during a week that the Bears handed Queens a 12-11 loss last Wednesday. That was the first regular-season loss in league history for the Royals.
Flueck made eight stops against Queens and her goals-against average for the season is 12.57 and she has 79 saves. She is the Bears’ all-time leader in career saves with 537.
LRU (4-7, 4-0) is in first place in the SAC and won’t play again until April 4 when it goes to Mars Hill for a 4 p.m. conference match.
