Bears’ next game is at home Saturday against Johnson C. Smith

HICKORY – Holding visiting Queens to 23.4 percent shooting, the Lenoir-Rhyne University women won 64-51 on Wednesday night in South Atlantic Conference (SAC) basketball at Shuford Gym.

The Bears (4-3, 1-1), who next play a non-league home game on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Johnson C. Smith, were led by 16 points from Madi Suddreth, 11 by Ashley Rodriquez and 10 from Kendall Toineeta.

Lade Adepoju scored a game-high 17 points for Queens (3-2, 0-1), which shot only 13 percent from 3-point range.

The Bears’ bench had a 28-15 scoring edge and LRU won the boards 53-43.

Suddreth and Toineeta, both seniors, have scored in double digits in six games this season.
