ROCK HILL, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Angelica Arroyo has been selected first-team All-South Atlantic Conference (SAC) in volleyball.
The Bears also had freshman Helen Hamilton, from Greensboro, make the league’s All-Freshman team.
The teams were released Thursday by conference officials.
Arroyo, a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico and transfer from Saint Andrews, led LRU with 3.57 kills per set this season – third best in the SAC – and she was second on the Bears in kills (271).
Hamilton, a setter, is the second All-Freshman team pick for the Bears in two seasons. She led them in assists per set (8.6, third-best in the SAC) and she had 799 assists in 81 sets this season.
LRU finished 17-11 overall and 11-9 in the SAC and was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the SAC tournament on Tuesday by Carson-Newman. The Bears were 10-16, 6-14 the year before.
