COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Lenoir-Rhyne’s Walker hits .500 for week, wins league award

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Christina Walker, who led Lenoir-Rhyne University to six wins last week with a .500 batting average, is the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Softball Player of The Week.

Walker, a senior from Roxboro, went 8-for-16, scored three runs, hit a home run and drove in six runs as the Bears went 6-0 for the week.

Her home run, a two-run shot, came in the sixth inning of a 6-5 come-from-behind win over Mars Hill last Sunday. She had at least two hits in three games last week.

A two-time All-SAC player, Walker is hitting .296 with two home runs and 12 RBIs this season.
