COLLEGE SOFTBALL: Bears’ Boone, Kenley first-teamers on All-SE Region

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Two Lenoir-Rhyne University juniors have earned first-team All-Southeast Region spots from the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

LRU officials announced in a press release the selection of pitcher Emily Kenley of Charlotte and outfielder Erin Boone of Creedmore.

KENLEY

Kenley went 24-5 this season with an ERA of 1.81, throwing six shutouts and striking out 125 en route to being named South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Pitcher of the Year.

Boone made the All-Region first-team for the third straight season after leading the Bears in batting average (.395), runs (53), hits (66), doubles (15), total bases (109) and on-base percentage (.510). She also eight home runs and drove in 37 runs.

LRU went 45-10 this season, including 19-1 in the SAC, to win the league regular-season title and advance to the Southeast Regional finals.

All first-team selections move on to the All-America ballot.
