HICKORY – Victor Cascon, who scored four times a season ago, has five goals this season in leading the Lenoir-Rhyne University men’s soccer team.

The Bears (4-3, 3-1) won again Saturday, beating visiting Wingate 3-1 when Cascon scored twice, and they next play on Wednesday in a South Atlantic Conference (SAC) match at Coker with a 7:30 p.m. start.
Wingate fell to 4-2-1, 2-1.
Both of Cascon’s goals Saturday came in the first half while Cameron Saul added his third goal
of the season for the Bears.
The match featured 30 fouls, 19 by Wingate, and nine yellow cards and a red card being issued.
LRU junior Alex Langer had two saves while Pablo Jara of Wingate made five.
The Bears will be at home Saturday for an SAC match, facing Queens at 7:30 p.m.
