ROCK HILL, S.C – Three Lenoir-Rhyne University men’s lacrosse players were selected first-team All-South Atlantic Conference (SAC) this week.
Joe Buduo, Eric Dickinson and Tyler Bane of the Bears were selected by conference head coaches and Noah Johnson made the league’s second team, league officials said in a press release.
Budo, a senior from Shrewsbury, Mass., and Dickinson, a junior from Charlotte, were league’s top scoring this season.
Budo had 42 goals and 64 points this season, topping 140 career goals and 200 career points at LRU, and Dickinson also scored 42 times and added 19 assists for 61 points.
Bane, a junior from Warrenton, Va., was first-team after causing 24 ground balls for the Bears, who held league opponents to 52 goals (second fewest in the SAC).
Johnson, a freshman goalie from Johns Creek, Ga., allowed just 7 ½ goals per league match and his 62.5 percent save percentage led the league.
Alex Llerandi of Wingate was named conference Player of the Year, Newberry’s Brady Kearnan won Freshman of the Year and the top coach was Peter Bourque of Catawba.
LRU is the fourth seed in the conference tournament and won 15-6 over No. 5 Newberry in the first round on Tuesday.
