ROCK HILL, S.C. – Former Maiden High star Xzavion Huff won a football award on Monday for Lenoir-Rhyne University and another from the South Atlantic Conference (SAC).

Huff, a freshman, was named LRU’s Ronnie Lott Heavy Hitter for last Saturday’s season finale at Catawba while also garnering the SAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week.

He returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in the Bears’ 24-20 road setback to Catawba.

Huff led the Bears in kickoff returns this year – 423 yards on 17 returns for a 24.9-yard average – and finished second on the squad in rushing (227 yards) with two scores.

He won the Lott Heavy Hitter award for the first time and Southside Power and Fitness will make a contribution to Habitat for Humanity in the honor of Huff.
