COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Bears to honor late AD at halftime of Sept. 15 home game

HICKORY – Lenoir-Rhyne University will pay tribute to a former athletic director as part of the promotions for a home football game on Sept. 15 at Moretz Stadium.

School officials said via press release they plan to honor the late Neill McGeachy prior to the first home football game of the season, against Mars Hill at 6 p.m.

The presentation is sponsored by OrthoCarolina.

McGeachy’s family will be recognized at halftime of the game, and a special video commemorating a $2.6 million capital campaign kickoff for the Neill McGeachy Sports Performance Center will be shown.

The Bears also plan post-game fireworks shortly after the game ends. Fans will be asked to move to the home sideline before the fireworks begin.

The Bear Cub Group of the game will be the Catawba YMCA while it will also be Hickory Young Professionals Night.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and children under 2 get in free.
