WOMEN’S COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Queens wins 3-0 to sweep Lenoir-Rhyne

CHARLOTTE – Queens University kept its grip on third place and handed visiting Lenoir-Rhyne University its third straight loss in South Atlantic Conference (SAC) women’s volleyball on Saturday.

The Royals won 25-13, 28-26, 25-18 to improve to 19-6 overall and 13-5 in the league while the Bears fell to 10-13, 6-11.

Jordan Proszenyak led Queens with 11 kills and Sydney Kunz provided 43 assists and eight digs.

The Bears got a match-high 12 kills from Brooke Redmond and Taylor Praill added six kills and six digs.

Queens was helped by its 11 service aces and the Bears’ hitting percentage was just .167.

The Royals’ win gave them a sweep of LRU in the regular season.

LRU has a league match at Mars Hill on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
