HICKORY – Lenoir-Rhyne University will try to rebound from a loss when it plays at Wingate on Thursday night in South Atlantic Conference women’s volleyball.
The Bears (10-11, 6-9) play the Bulldogs at 7 p.m. on the road.
Anderson, S.C. downed LRU 3-1 on Tuesday night in a SAC match in Hickory, beating the Bears 25-22, 25-18, 20-25, 26-24 to win for the 15th straight time.
Four Trojans had 10 or more kills in the win by Anderson, led by Marissa Mitter’s 17, and Emily Conlin added 53 assists and 16 digs.
Freshman Laila Horton had a career-high 14 kills and Brooke Redmond had a double-double (11 kills, 22 digs) for the Bears.
LRU had a 24-11 lead in the fourth set before the Trojans rallied to win and sweep the season series with the Bears.
