WOMEN’S COLLEGE GOLF: Lenoir-Rhyne in eighth at conference championships

ELGIN, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne University’s women go into the final round of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Championships on Tuesday in eighth place.

The Bears are at 85-over par 661 through the first two rounds at The Members Club at Woodcreek. Chelsea Mansel, in a tie for 17th, leads the Bears.

Wingate is the team leader at 52-over par 628 and is 19 strokes ahead of Anderson, S.C., and Tusculum.

Mansel, a junior from Greer, S.C., is at 19-over par 163. Sophomore Laura Morrison and junior Abbey Hartsell are tied for 20th for LRU.

Wingate’s Warissa Puangchareon and Queens’ Cameryn Smith are tied for first after 36 holes at 10-over 154.
