SALISBURY – Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Abbey Hartsell birdied No. 18 on Tuesday, closing the Patsy Rendleman Invitational as the individual champion as the Bears finished second as a team.

LRU finished at 292-293—585, four strokes back of Limestone.

Hartsell, a senior who was a prep golf star at Alexander Central, closed at 69-71—140 while Bears sophomore Morgan Robb tied for sixth at 70-74—144.

Other LRU finishes included a third straight top 20 for junior Ainee O’Connor (75-75—150), senior Chelsea Mansel finishing at 80-63—153 and freshman Patricia Asensio closing at 78—86—164.

A couple streaks are in play for the Bears as they continue their season: Hartsell and Robb both finished in the top-10 and O’Connor in the top-20 for the second straight tournament while Hartsell has three wins after winning twice last season.
