ROCK HILL, S.C. – A school-record hammer throw by Cole Henderson of Lenoir-Rhyne University helped him gain a South Atlantic Conference (SAC) weekly award for outdoor track and field.
Henderson,m a junior from Greer, S.C., was named Tuesday as the league’s Outdoor Field Athlete of The Week.
He set a new school record in the hammer throw at 155-11 while taking seventh place at the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational last weekend. He also was fifth in the men’s discus (46-1).
The Bears’ next competition is Friday and Saturday at the Terrier Relays in Spartanburg, S.C.
