ROCK HILL, S.C. – Alexander Langer of Lenoir-Rhyne University was named Tuesday as the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Defensive Player of the Week in men’s soccer.
Langer, from Stuggart, Germany, had two saves – both on diving stops — as the Bears edged conference foe Carson-Newman 1-0 and this is her first conference award.
LRU (2-1, 1-0) plays a league match on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Mars Hill. The Bears are at Newberry, S.C., on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for a SAC match.
