MEN’S COLLEGE GOLF: Lenoir-Rhyne, Newberry share lead in Morganton

MORGANTON—Lenoir-Rhyne University’s men share the lead with Newberry (S.C.) after the opening rounds on Monday of the Donald Ross Intercollegiate at Mimosa Hills.

The Bears are at 561 after team scores of 284 and 277 through two rounds, led by senior Brad Robinson. He is part of a five-way tie for second place at 69-69—138 heading into Tuesday’s play.

Alex Parker of North Greenville (S.C.) tops the leaderboard at 68-68—136.

LRU has four golfers in the top 20 – Robinson, Carlos Lasso (139, seventh), freshmen Matthew Reybould (143) and Georg Hartman (143) and sharing 15th place and sophomore Dawson Walker (147, tied for 32nd.

The Bears had 16 birdies.
