MEN’S COLLEGE GOLF: Lenoir-Rhyne freshman ties for third at Bearcat Classic

GREENWOOD, S.C. – A third-place tie by freshman Dawson Walker led Lenoir-Rhyne University’s men’s golf team to sixth place in the Bearcat Classic at the Greenwood Country Club.

Walker, from Lenior, finished at 5-under 211 to earn all-tournament honors.

LRU shot 12-over 876 on a par-72, 6,800-yard course for sixth place, with Young Harris winning the team title at 14-under 850.

The Bears next play in the Tennessee River Rumble on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Tennessee National Golf Club in Loudon, Tenn.
