MEN’S COLLEGE GOLF: Bears’ Robinson scores ace in league championship’s second round

ANDERSON, S.C. – Junior Brad Robinson had a second-round ace on Monday as Lenoir-Rhyne University’s men moved up two spots, sharing sixth place, after two rounds of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) Championships.

LRU shot 29-over par 605 at the par-72, 7,002-yard course at Cobb’s Glenn Golf Course.

Carson-Newman leads the team standings at 15-over par 591, one stroke ahead of Newberry, S.C.

Robinson, a junior from Newcastle, United Kingdom, is at 5-over par 149 with one round to go (on Tuesday), and is tied for 12th place in the individual standings.

He became the second Bears player to ace a hole this year, tallying the hole-in-one on the par-3, 186-yard third hole.  Senior Jordan Vogler had an ace last week at the Tennessee River Rumble Intercollegiate in Loudon, Tenn.
