SUNSET BEACH – The Lenoir-Rhyne University women tied for second, and the Bears tied for eighth at the Myrtle Beach (S.C.) golf tournaments that concluded on Tuesday at the Ocean Ridge Plantation.
LRU’s women finished at 36-over par 612 to share second place with Tusculum, one stroke back of tournament winner Wingate.
In individual competition, Wingate’s Diana McDonald won in a playoff over LRU’s Abbey Hartsell.
Limestone’s B men’s team won by shooting a 2-over par 578 to edge Lincoln Memorial by three strokes.
Coker’s Wanjoo Lee won the individual crown with a 4-under 140.
The top score for LRU was an even par 144 by Brad Robinson, who tied for sixth place.
The LRU women next play on Monday and Tuesday at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational while the Bears play the same days in the NCAA Division II South/Southeast Super Regional Preview at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover.
