COLLEGE GOLF: Lenoir-Rhyne women third after first day of tournament

The Lenoir-Rhyne University women are in third place after one day at the Lady Bearcats Invitational in Greenwood, S.C.

The Bears shot 314, led by 77s by Abbey Hartsell and Ainee O’Connor, and they’re one stroke behind Limestone and 11 back of tournament leader SCAD-Savannah.

Hartsell and O’Connor are tied for seventh in the individual race and LRU’s Megan Robb (78) is tied for 15th.

Chelsea Mansel added an 82 and Patricia Asensio shot an 89 for the Bears.

Bears 15th in Tennessee

LRU’s men are 15th after one day of the Tennessee River Rumble in Loudon, Tenn.

Dawson Walker leads the Bears, tying for 30th with a round of 76. Brad Robinson shot a 77 for LRU.

Carlos Lasso de la Vega Jessen and Matthew Raybould had rounds of 80 for LRU and Georg Hartmann shot 84.

LRU’s team score of 313 is four strokes back of Coker and Belmont Abbey, and the leader is Lincoln Memorial at 293.
