WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former Bandys High star Hunter Harvey got touched for a run — and a blown save — but the Washington Nationals still beat the Chicago Cubs on Thursday.

The Nats won an afternoon game 4-3 with a walk-off home run by Alex Call to win their third series in the last four.

Washington begins a three-games series at Arizona on Friday night with Harvey still pitching consistently well.

On Thursday, he came on in the eighth inning and worked one, giving up two hits and one run (earned) with no walks and one strikeout.

He threw strikes on 15 of 20 pitches to five batters, battling in 60-degree weather before a crowd of 18, 577. The game finished just five minutes shy of two hours.

Harvey heads west with a 1-0 record — that win was Tuesday night in D.C. over the Cubs — with an ERA of 2.45 with 17 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings pitched.

After 78 games in the majors, the son of former major-league reliever Bryan Harvey has 85 strikeouts in 77 2/3 innings pitched.
