WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former Bandys High pitching star Hunter Harvey had a busy week, pitching in three games for the Washington Nationals.
He started his week throwing one inning on Monday in a 6-3 loss at the Chicago Cubs, giving up two hits, two runs (both earned) with one walk and one strikeout.

On Friday night, he pitched the ninth inning at home in a 10-5 loss to the San Diego Padres, who got one hit. Harvey had no walks or strikeouts.
On Saturday night, Harvey threw the eighth inning in Washington’s 4-3 victory over San Diego, allowing no hits and posting one walk and one strikeout. He threw strikes on nine of 17 pitches to four batters.
Harvey did not pitch on Sunday — when San Diego won 6-0 — and heads into this week at 0-0 with an ERA of 3.24 in 18 games this season (18 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings).
He is now 1-2 with an ERA of 3.35 and 41 strikeouts in 40 1/3 innings pitched in the big leagues after 44 appearances.
Washington (38-78) is at home against the Chicago Cubs for three games, Monday through Wednesday, and then plays Thursday through Sunday at San Diego.
